MJ Memorial In Awe Of Shaheen

Shaheen Jafagholi has just performed at the Michael Jackson Memorial and it was a fitting tribute by one so young, I'm sure he made his idol proud.

After watching the youngster audition on Britain's Got Talent, Jackson invited Shaheen to perform with him on his UK tour but unfortunately that wasn't to be...

After Michael's death, the Jackson family contacted Shaheen to personally invite him to the service and perform.

As Shaheen gathered himself backstage, legendary singer/songwriter Smokey Robinson gave an emotional introduction to the song he penned - Who's Loving You. He said "At the time I couldn't believe it was Michael singing. How could such a young boy sing about loving someone and losing them? I had to meet him, he sang with so much 'know'."

In fitting tribute, Shaheen then took to the stage and performed Who's Loving You with a passion and warmth reminiscent of a young Michael... The crowd were literally in awe.

Personally I was amazed at how well the 12 year old held it together. He stood directly behind Michael's golden casket and that would be hard for the most seasoned performer. Usher broke down later under similar circumstances.

As Shaheen's moment came to an end, the crowd gave a standing ovation. He bowed gracefully and then addressed the Jackson family, "I am honoured to be here" and "I love Michael Jackson". He was visibly choked and before it became too much, he left the stage like a true professional.

I can only imagine how this young man's career is going to explode tomorrow... Over a billion people watched Michael's Celebration of Life.

It was said during the service that the title 'King of Pop' wasn't big enough for Michael. He should be remembered as "The Greatest Entertainer Who Ever Lived".

I hope Shaheen follows in his footsteps. Here's to you Michael...

A truly magnificent performance infront of so many Artist....Shaheen did Britain proud by containing himself like a true pro! To actually perform infront of so many,being watched by a global audience and singing in tribute to his icon must have been the most difficult task he has ever undertaken to date and I'm sure he will not go through such a pain staking performance ever again! 	Wendy Peterswrote: Absolutly agree with the views Shaheen was great on BGT but here he really did Britain proud, one of the comments in Smokey Robinson described Micheal as having sooo much soul in his performances when he was 10 yrs old, Micheal had a fantastic amount of stage presence by that age because he practised so muchand had lots of guidence. I cant wait until Shaheen has had the same amount of guidence because he deserved the standing ovation for guts alone never mind the amount of soul and feeling in his performance. \well done July 7
